Learning guitar connects the hands, ears — and mind.
Playing the guitar brings together several skills at once. Both hands perform different movements, the ear continuously evaluates the sound, and the mind connects rhythm, chord shapes, notes and musical patterns into a coherent whole.
Research on musical training shows that playing an instrument engages motor control, auditory processing, attention and memory, while requiring constant coordination between sensory information and precise movement.
